Welcome Team Margate!
I am honored and elated to join the Margate Middle School Team for the 2013-2014 school year! As Assistant Principal, my top priority is to contribute to the mission and academic goals of such an outstanding learning community.
Prior to my arrival at Margate, I was an Assistant Principal at both Lauderhill and Arthur Ashe Middle Schools. Preceding my administrative experience, I spent seven years at Seminole Middle School, three years as a classroom instructor teaching Science and four years as the Guidance Director, respectively. As a member of the faculty at these great institutions, I thoroughly loved my experiences in teaching, counseling and being involved with student activities.
I am an alumna of Bethune-Cookman University where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Educational Biology. I continued my education at St Thomas University where I earned a Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling. I further pursued my post-graduate education at Nova Southeastern University, where I received a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership.
It is my belief that learning should be student-centered and to quote Mary McLeod Bethune, “We have a powerful potential in our youth, and we must have the courage to change old ideas and practices so that we may direct their power toward good ends.” I am passionate about teaching and learning. Thus, I am committed to setting high expectations, establishing rigorous academics and instilling a love of learning in every student. It is my sincere desire, as Assistant Principal, that I provide all stakeholders with the support and requisite resources to expand learning opportunities for all students and to facilitate life-long learning.
Together We Win!
