History

Margate Middle School is located in Margate, Florida, a rich and diverse city located in Central Broward County. Margate Middle School is a Title I school, providing extended learning opportunities for students in the areas of reading, writing, and mathematics.
Margate Middle School first opened its doors in 1965 to 700 students. However, as the city grew, so did Margate Middle School’s student population, who once served 3,700 students before returning to 1, 400 students in 1975, where it remained for the next 15 years. Currently, our enrollment is 1,162 students. Margate Middle School is the second oldest school in the quad city area, consisting of Coconut Creek, Coral Springs, Margate and North Lauderdale. The city of Margate is rich in culture and Margate Middle School is proud to be serving the second generation of Margate residents.
