Applebee’s Restaurant
The Applebee’s restaurant and Margate Middle School continue their partnership for the fifth year with general manager Kevin Petrow and manager Denyse Petri providing our school with several staff appreciation events. Both Kevin and Denyse, a former Margate Middle School student, attended our fall and spring Open House events providing gifts and discount coupons for our Margate families. Upcoming events planned include participation in a “Family Night” fundraiser and corporate representation in conjunction with Margate Middle School in the American Cancer Society’s “Relay for Life”.
Bank Atlantic
Bank Atlantic continues a business partnership with Margate Middle for the second year. Special appreciation goes out to Darci Brown, Vice-President and mother of Hannah Gearheart, an 8th grader at our school, for joining our team. Bank Atlantic is the corporate sponsor of the Junior Achievement (JA) Finance Park that our 8th grade visits on an annual basis. Bank Atlantic has some greate incentives planned for our school this year!
Costco
Tiffany Childress, Marketing Manager for COSTCO of Pompano Beach, has joined our school as a Partner in Education this year. Tiffany has provided our school with student incentives for FCAT Camp, refreshments for PTSA/SAC meetings and teacher appreciation events. She also donated the refreshments for students throughout the year and for our awards night.
Dunkin Donuts
Dunkin Donuts joined our school as a partner in education this year. Doreen from the Margate Store came out to our Curriculum Carnival and participated ina “donut toss” with families winning free donuts! She has also teamed up with our Gators team in a weekly fundraising activity!
First Community Church of Margate
Pastor Jesse Kegg, of The First Community Church of Margate, joined our school as a Partner in Education this year. Jesse volunteers every week with our First Priority Club, a non-denominational youth ministry, under the direction of Ms. Lesley Shell. Jesse and several members of the church volunteered their time to assist us with our FCAT Family night. The Church has also provided our school with a teacher appreciation breakfast, and has assisted us with our FCAT Camp student incentives.
Galaxy Skateway
Galaxy Skateway in North Lauderdale has teamed up with our school to provide us with incentives that teachers and administrators can use to reward and motivate students! Free Admission to Galaxy Skateway is just one way we reward our students. Special thanks go out to Kathy Marshall for providing these incentives.
The Home Depot
Margate would like to welcome The Home Depot as a returning business partner this year.The Home Depot recently came to our school and put on a “Kids Builders Night” at our curriculum carnival.Over 50 parents and students worked together to build something together.Another evening is planned for the spring.

Papa John’s
Margate Middle has teamed up will Papa John’s Pizza for a second year. The first Thursday of every month is a “Margate Middle Papa John’s Pizza Night”.The homeroom class with the most pizza orders wins a class pizza party and 15% of all of the proceeds each evening comes back to Margate Middle. The money earned will be used for student incentives. Marketing Manager, Lori Bonilla also attends our Fall and Spring Open Houses to meet and greet our parents!
Publix Supermarkets
Store Manager, Bob Hagler, has volunteered both his store’s resources as well as his time at Margate Middle School for five years. Whether it is donating cases of water for field day, cakes for our “meet and greet” open houses, our neighborhood Publix and Mr. Hagler have done an outstanding job of supporting our educational initiatives every year.
Quiznos Sub
Owner Derreck Edwards and son Conrad joined our business partnerships for a third year.Derreck attended our SAC/PTSA meetings, providing samples of his cuisine to our parents. Conrad participates with our other partners at our Spring Open House. For our latest collaboration, Derreck provided all of the ingredients to recreate a Quiznos Subs at Margate Middle School. Our administrators were outfitted with official Quiznos aprons and hats as they worked side by side to create Quiznos subs for our teachers during teacher appreciation week! What a great partnership!
Starbucks Coffee
Starbucks Coffee continues as a partner in education with Margate Middle School for the fifth year. Store Manager, Patti McCoy, has provided donations for staff appreciation activities, giveaways for our Margate families and has attended both our fall and spring Open House events. Patti, a former drama student
at Margate Middle, has teamed up with our drama department allowing Margate students to perform commercial skits and dramatic theater presentations on site for the customers. This year, Starbucks is planning on teaming up with our reading department to put on “Frappachino Frenzy”, a reward program for students who have met their accelerated reader goals.
Starbucks Promotes Reading. In her fifth year as a valued business partner with Margate Middle School, local Starbucks Manager, Patti McCoy created a reward/incentive program for student readers. “Our school works very hard to encourage students to read and take Accelerated Reader quizzes,” said Cara Coletti, Assistant Principal. Through AR quizzes, students earn points after completing a book. The top 4 students on each team (40 students in total) attend a quarterly incentive party creatively named “Frappuccino Frenzy.” Starbucks brings all the supplies and ingredients for students to create their Frappuccino drinks, with the help of the Starbucks crew. The Frappuccino Frenzy beverages are specially made for students and do not include any coffee.
As a former Margate Middle School student, Patti understands the importance of making learning and reading fun.
Target Stores
Target has joined is a “partner in education” for the fifth year with Margate
Middle School and has provided donations for staff
appreciation events and field day events. Last year, Target donated school supplies to our school for the earthquake victims from Haiti. For the last two years, our teachers have received the Target field trip grant which provided funding for students to attend a trip to the Everglades as part of our science and environmental educational initiatives.
Wal-Mart
A business partner for five years, the Margate Wal-Mart has assisted Margate Middle School with staff appreciation donations and has awarded our school with over $2,000.
