UNDERSTANDING FCAT REPORTS
The Spring 2012 Understanding FCAT 2.0 Reports document is now available on the Department’s website on the FCAT 2.0 homepage at http://fcat.fldoe.org/fcat2/pdf/s12uf2r.pdf.
The document includes explanations of the student and educator reports, a glossary of the terms used in these reports, and the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards (NGSSS) content assessed on the FCAT 2.0.

SCHOOL FINANCIAL REPORT
In accordance with Florida law, we are providing you with your child’s school financial report.  The figures in this report represent the revenues and the expenditures allocated to the school, both in total and per FTE (full-time equivalent) student.  This data is compared to the rest of the schools in the district and the state.  The purpose of this report is to inform parents of the resources that were available to the school during the 2010-11 school year. Click here for report.   Click here for explanation of report details.

FCAT Supplemental Instruction Online   – Student Guide
March 8th, 2012
Dear Parents:

Over the next month, students will be provided with supplemental instruction using Destination Math and Reading through the BEEP student portal. This web-based program will help ensure that your child has the basic skills necessary for FCAT 2.0 standards.  We are asking students to begin working with this program over spring break and continue until FCAT. If a student does not have access at home, our AM FCAT lab is open Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 8:25am.

Students have been assigned four units in reading and four lessons in math to complete by April 13th, 2012.  To encourage participation over the next four weeks, Margate Middle is offering a pizza party for students that complete 100% of all four activities in reading and math by April 13th, 2012. At the discretion of the teachers, extra credit points will be given in Math, Reading and Language Arts for successful completion of activities.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email the reading department chair, Ms. Barth at candice.barth@browardschools.com.

 Sincerely,
Earnest Toliver, Principal
