Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year! I trust you have taken every opportunity to read, relax, and spend quality time with family and friends over the summer. I also hope that you are looking forward to the school year with the same enthusiasm as the teachers and staff. Our enrollment is going up, up, up! Our class sizes will be adjusted as needed in the upcoming weeks.
We have spent this summer designing and improving our school wide programs so that every student reaches their potential. This year we have added STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) Magnet Program. We have two brand new state of the art Apple computer labs to help provide curriculum that is on the cutting edge, both in the state and in the nation.
We are very excited to have Mr. Andrew Bronstein onboard as the sixth grade administrator. He will work closely with the 6th graders students, parents, faculty, and staff to ensure that the 6th graders have a smooth transition to middle school.
Students you will be meeting new people and making new friends. Your classes might be filled with strangers, but after a day or two, you will have new friends in each class. You will receive an agenda/planner book especially made for middle school students. Please use the planner to help organize your assignments, tests, etc. It is also an excellent tool for parents and teachers to communicate with each other.
Margate Middle views parents and guardians as our partners in the educational process. I encourage you to attend as many of our school activities as possible. Each of these activities from sports, to parent nights, to student performances will help give you a better feel for the Margate educational culture. I encourage all parents and guardians to play an active role in the education of our students. Please get involved with our PTSA, SAC/SAF parent groups. Best wishes to the entire Margate Middle School community for another great school year.
